Albert E. Cerritelli, 92

     Poland:  There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 14, 2107 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Dominic’s Church, 77 E. Lucius Avenue in Youngstown with Father Frank Zanni officiating, preceded by a prayer service at 9:20 am at Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman, for Albert E. Cerritelli, 92, who passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Saint Elizabeth Health Center with his loving family by his side. 

     Albert, known as “Al”, was born March 10, 1925 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Gus and Caroline (Valentine) Cerritelli. 

     He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City and The University of Pittsburgh, with a degree in Pharmacy.    

     Al was a Pharmacist for several years and later become a sale representative for Bristol Meyers Squibb for 33 years, retiring in 1989.

     Al was an Army veteran, serving during World War II.  

     He was a member of Saint Dominic’s Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. 

     Al is survived by five children, Albert R. (Janet) Cerritelli, Jr. of New Middletown, Ronald J. (Lynne) Cerritelli of Naples, Florida, Robert F. Cerritelli of Port Charlotte, Florida, Cynthia J. (Michael) Morley of Boardman and Michael P. Cerritelli of Alexandria, Virginia; two grandsons, Brandon (Mandy Delvaux) Cerritelli of New Middletown and Andrew Cerritelli of Miami, Florida; a sister Grace DeCaria of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.   

     Besides his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, the former Dorothy J. Cipro whom he married on September 13, 1947, died May 21, 2017; a brother Gus and sister-in-law, Angie Cerritelli, and a brother-in-law, Anthony DeCaria 

     Family and friends may call on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 5 to 7 pm and on Thursday, from 8:45 to 9:15 am at Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman. 

     The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to St. Dominic’s Church, 77 E. Lucius Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio  44507 in memory of Al.

     Al’s family would like to thank Dr. Wilkins, and his staff as well as the staff at Sunrise of Poland for the love, care and support they provided Al and his family
